Delete your FutCast account
FutCast is the football recaps by ear app from FUTCAST LLC. Here is how to delete your FutCast account, which data is deleted and which is kept, and for how long.
You can delete it yourself, for free and at any time, in the Android and iPhone apps or on the web. It is deleted at once and cannot be undone.
In the Android and iPhone apps
- Open the FutCast app and tap “Perfil” (Profile) in the bottom bar.
- Under “Cuenta” (Account), tap “Eliminar mi cuenta” (Delete my account).
- Review what is deleted and tap “Continuar” (Continue).
- Type ELIMINAR and tap “Eliminar mi cuenta”.
On the web
- Sign in at futcast.com/en/cuenta with your email: we send you a code to sign in.
- Under “Delete account”, press “Delete my account”. You can also go straight to futcast.com/en/cuenta/eliminar.
- Tick “I understand this can’t be undone” and press “Delete my account”.
If you can’t sign in, or other requests
Write to hello@futcast.com from your account’s email address. You can ask us to delete your account, or some or all of your data. We handle every email request within 30 days.
Delete some of your data without deleting your account
If you want to keep your account, you can delete only some of your data:
- Your comments: in the app or on the web, tap “Delete” (“Eliminar” in the app) on the comment of yours you want gone. Its text is deleted at once.
- Your usage statistics: turn on “Don’t measure my usage” (in the app, “No medir mi uso” under “Perfil” › “Privacidad”; on the web, under “Your account” › “Privacy”) and we stop counting what you listen to on this account, on all your devices.
- Any other data: write to hello@futcast.com from your account’s email address and tell us what you want deleted. We handle every request within 30 days.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, these are deleted at once:
- your account, your email and the sessions open on all your devices;
- your profile: your name, your country, your public name and your choices about personalization and email alerts;
- the leagues and teams you follow;
- your email alerts and the record of the ones we sent you;
- your listening history and progress: new, started and heard;
- your episode ratings and likes;
- your agent keys and their activity, and the record of your questions to FutCast;
- from your comments: the text and signature of all of them (including those under review or removed by the team), your likes and your reports;
- your usage statistics in PostHog (your profile and your events), when you delete the account on the web. The Android and iPhone apps send no statistics to PostHog; if you delete it in an app and used the web before, write to hello@futcast.com and we delete them.
What is kept, and for how long
- Where someone replied to one of your comments, a “comment deleted” placeholder with no text or name stays so the replies still make sense. It is deleted once no replies are left under it.
- Reports other listeners made about your comments are deleted 90 days after they were made.
- The cost of the automated check of your comments stays in our internal accounts, no longer linked to your account, for up to 30 days.
- To limit sign-in attempts we keep a keyed hash of your email and of your connection for one day; then it is deleted automatically.
- If the FutCast team moderated a comment of yours or suspended you, its internal log keeps what it did and when, without the comment’s text or your email. If you ask us by email to delete your account, that log keeps your masked email (for example, l***o@gmail.com). It is the record of what the team did and is not deleted automatically.
- Technical error reports (Sentry) store neither your email nor your account’s identifier, so they cannot be linked to it. They are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- If you joined the waitlist before accounts opened, that email is kept separately: write to hello@futcast.com if you want it deleted.
It is final
Deleting your account cannot be undone. If you sign in again with the same email, you start from scratch, with a new, empty account.
Everything we keep and why is in our Privacy Policy: futcast.com/en/privacidad.
